Mahindra Defence: New light armoured vehicle deliveries have started at Mahindra Defence Systems (MDS), a company owned by the Mahindra and Mahindra Group and recognised for producing armoured vehicles for the Indian armed services. The Mahindra Armado is the brand’s most recent vehicle. It is important to highlight that the Indian carmaker created and produced the new vehicle entirely domestically.
The information was distributed via Twitter by Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra. Social media videos displayed the light armoured truck with Indian flags and floral decorations.
Mahindra Defences’s Armado details
It is propelled by a 3.2-litre multi-fuel diesel engine with a 216-horsepower maximum output. Power is sent to the wheels by a dedicated 4×4 system via a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
This car was made entirely in the country. One driver and five passengers can ride in it. According to the company’s website, it is intended for a load capacity of 1,000 kg but has an additional 400 kg carrying capacity.
It is suitable for counterterrorism operations, open-air and desert raids, and reconnaissance missions. Border patrols, carrying weapons, and conventional operations are all possible uses for Quick Reaction Teams and Special Forces.
It receives STANAG level-2 and B7 level ballistic protection. This indicates that it is protected from armour-piercing guns by its armour. Additionally, it is shielded from explosives and ballistics from the front, back, and rear.
