Mahindra Roxor: Renowned Car Manufacturer, Mahindra Automotive will now be able to sell the Roxor Off-roader in the US Automobile market. Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) Group (Stellentis) sued Mahindra for design Infringement in which US Court has given verdict in favor of Mahindra. When Did It All Started

This case started when FCA Group filed lawsuit against Mahindra claiming that the design of Roxor Off-Roader has copied the protected component of Jeep. First, this case was filed in Michigan by FCA Group. Due to this concern, Mahindra was temporarily forced to stop selling the Mahidra Roxor in United States, untile the court odered to change the design. For the lawsuit filing, FCA stated that Mahindra Roxor Off-roader is almost an identical copy of their Jeep Model. Company stated that the design details such as “Boxy body shaped with flat looking vertical and the rear bodyy ending at the same height.

Mahindra’s Stand On The Case

The proposal of FCA to join Roxor was rejected after 2020, so the company can’t impose any restriction on the ability of Mahindra Automotive North America to produce, sell and distribute the post 2020 ROXOR in United States.

Mahindra Changed the design of Roxor

The Design of Roxor was changed in the beginning of 2020, but later it was updated to get a look like Jeep SUV, then the Sixth US Circuit Court of Appeals refferred the case to Detroit Court in September 202, which gave the verdict that the Roxor’s Post 2020 design doesn’t have much similar design from the Jeep model design. The Court then rejected the Jeep request to impose the safe distance rule on Mahindra Roxor.
