Mahindra Thar.e: At an event in South Africa, Mahindra has officially shown the Thar EV prototype. The five-door SUV, known as Thar.e, is slated to debut in 2025 as the company’s first electric off-road vehicle.
Mahindra Thar.e design details
Regarding the design of the Thar.e, Mahindra has used a novel strategy. The car’s front fascia is rectangular, and it sports a tough front bumper and square LED headlamps. Square LED tail lights and a spare wheel positioned on the tailboard are featured on the Thar.e’s slab side rear end. The automobile has a sharp bevel in its flared wheel arches. Keep in mind the exposed door hinges as well.
Dimensions and Platform
With a wheelbase ranging from 2,775mm to 2,975mm to accommodate the additional doors and battery pack, the Thar EV will be built on the INGLO P1 platform and have a ground clearance of up to 300mm.
Expected powertrain details
A 60kWh battery pack and a 4WD system will likely be used by the electric Thar. It is anticipated to be equipped with two motors, one installed on each axle—the front and the back—and driving each of the vehicle’s four wheels.
