Mahindra Thar: Today, Mahindra & Mahindra will formally introduce the Thar’s rear-wheel-drive model to the Indian market. It is anticipated to have a starting price of roughly Rs. 11.5 lakh (ex-showroom), and because of its drive configuration, the existence of a smaller diesel engine, and the tax advantages that come with staying under four metres, it would be at the bottom of the range.

New Mahindra Thar Specifications
The Marazzo MPV uses the 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine as well. As the 2.0-litre turbo mStallion petrol and the 2.2-litre mHawk turbo diesel are already in use, it aids in increasing the powertrain lineup. The smaller oil burner is capable of producing a peak torque of 300 Nm and a maximum power output of 117 PS. Only a five-speed manual transmission will be used to link the D117 CRDe motor, sending power only to the rear axle. The 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine will not be available with rear-wheel drive. However, the sole 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine will be offered with the RWD system, providing purchasers on a low budget with more options to select from.
Also, It will only be combined with an automatic transmission with a six-speed torque converter. The TGDi powertrain will produce 150 PS and 320 Nm of torque, matching the 4WD AT’s power and torque outputs. Late in 2020, the newest Thar made its local premiere, and buyers have been pleased with it. It costs between Rs. 13.59 lakh and Rs. 16.29 lakh and is offered in hardtop and convertible body styles.
New colours and features
Two new paint schemes, Blazing Bronze and Everest White will be provided to enhance the portfolio. A touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, an electronic stability programme, electrically adjustable ORVMs, 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres, moulded stairs, etc. are among the features of the RWD petrol AT.
The upcoming release of the five-door variant would further diversify Mahindra Thar’s product line. It might make its debut later this year and will feature a longer wheelbase and a roomier cabin. It will compete with the future five-door Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Jimny.
