Powertrain details
Under the hood of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is a 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine that produces 90PS/113Nm. A 5-speed manual gearbox is still available as standard, but the Baleno replaces its obsolete CVT with a new AMT automatic drivetrain. Despite the fact that Maruti no longer offers a mild hybrid option, the Baleno’s engine still has idle start/stop technology for better fuel economy. According to the automaker, the automatic model gets 22.94 km per litre while the manual gets 22.35 km per litre. In CNG mode, the engine’s output lowers to 77PS and 98.5Nm, but its fuel efficiency increases to 30.61km/kg.
A 1.5-litre diesel engine with 90PS and a 1.2-litre petrol engine with 110PS and 140Nm of torque are two of the three powertrain choices Tata offers for the Altroz. For the naturally aspirated petrol engine, there are standard 5-speed manual and 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearboxes. The CNG kit, which will be designed to use a five-speed MT, may be coupled with the 1.2-litre NA powerplant. The output in CNG mode is 73.4 PS and 95 Nm.
Features
The Baleno comes with a head-up display, cruise control, an Arkamys audio system, and a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, it has auto air conditioning, push-button start/stop, and keyless entry. The safety features include up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill-hold assist, ISOFIX anchorages, rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera.
Among Altroz’s features are a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an instrument cluster with a semi-digital display. Additionally, there is ambient lighting and cruise control. Tata also sells the Altroz, which can be customised in a number of ways. The Altroz CNG will also have a sunroof option available. It has two front airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors, an auto park lock (DCT only), and rear parking sensors as safety features.
