Maruti Suzuki: Maruti Suzuki India announced on Wednesday that it intends to invest approximately Rs 35,000 crore to build a car manufacturing factory in Gujarat with an annual capacity of one million units. A few months from now, the location of the factory is anticipated to be determined, according to MSIL Chairman R C Bhargava.
At the Gandhinagar summit earlier in the day, the Gujarat government and the biggest automaker in India inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the new facility.
Maruti Suzuki to build a new plant in Gujrat
During his speech at the Vibrant Gujarat 2024 summit, Toshihiro Suzuki, the President of Suzuki Motors Japan, disclosed a further ₹35,000 crore investment to establish a second plant producing one million units in Gujarat. The carmaker intends to introduce an electric vehicle in India by the end of the year, with plans to export it to Europe and Japan.

Rahul Bharti, Executive Director of Corporate, Maruti Suzuki Affairs India, Said, “In this calendar year, we will be starting production of electric vehicle. We will be launching it, not only in the domestic market, but also in the advanced export markets like Europe and Japan.”
