Massive fire broke out at a COVID hospital in Mumbai which has caused in loosing lives of 10 patients while 70 were rescued.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has sought forgiveness from the kins of the deceased in the entire incident. Meanwhile he also assured that the people who are responsible the mega loss will be punished soon and the sinners will not be left.
“The firefighters did a great job in rescuing people. However… some who were on ventilators could not be rescued. I seek forgiveness from their families,” Thackeray told reporters Friday after visiting the the hospital.
“I want to assure you that whoever is at fault… they will be punished.”
“We have been fighting against the coronavirus for the past year. When the pandemic hit the state, there were very few beds and ventilators, but we continued our fight and set up temporary hospitals. This hospital was temporarily allowed to treat coronavirus patients,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is on his two day visit to Bangladesh has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to kins of deceased.
“Pained by the loss of lives due to a fire at a hospital in Mumbai. I pray that the injured recover soon,” the Prime Minister tweeted.
