MCD Standing Committee elections
Elections were held for 6 members of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi on 24 February.
The Aam Aadmi Party had called for a re-election of the six members of the MCD’s standing committee to ensure a fair process of selection. Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi had argued that there’s no prejudice in re-polling. The move was challenged by the two BJP councillors Kamaljeet Sehrawat and Shikha Roy. After this, today finally the election of 6 members of the Standing Committee was announced.
