Meerut News: In a shocking News coming from Meerut, the personal data of around 3,27,560 students has been leaked. The students had applied for Undergraduate Courses in more than 600 colleges affiliated to the Chaudhary Charan Singh University. The colleges are spread across six districts in Meerut , Baghpat, Bulandshahar, Hapur, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar. ( As Reported by TOI)
Students in fear as the data leak could harm their lives
The Data has the contact number, Mark-Sheet details, date of birth, details of the parents and the Residential address etc that were filled in the excel sheet. The students are worried as they fear the personal data could be used by someone to harm them. Following the incident, the University issued a notice against the Data Management Company who was outsourcing the admission process. The same company was issued two more notices in the last two days related to the Registration courses and the merit list.
Authorities have asked for explanation from the Company
The Admission Coordinator said that we have asked for an explanation from the company. On the other hand, we also suspect that this could have happened because the students tend to fill separate forms for colleges. As for the year 2023-2024, the students had registered with the University for the UG courses.
