Menstruation: In a life full of tension and stress, if women’s menstruation is delayed then what can be worse than this. Many women complain of late periods. When this happens, the first thing that comes to mind is pregnancy. But it is not necessary that if your periods are missing or coming late then you are pregnant. Pregnancy
Pregnancy is considered to be the first and foremost reason for not having a period. Every month an ovum is released in the body, which if not fertilized, gets ruptured and comes out in the form of blood through the vagina. But during pregnancy, the ovum and sperm get fertilized which takes the form of the fetus. Women do not have periods during pregnancy.
Overeating or extreme exercise
If you are doing a good deed in excess then it can be bad for you. Exercise has been considered very important to keep the body healthy. But if you workout beyond limits then your periods may become irregular. Apart from this, excessive consumption of fast or junk food, intake of excessive amounts of calories is harmful for the body and can also delay periods.
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
Polycystic ovary syndrome is a hormonal imbalance that reduces your body’s ability to release eggs. If the ovum is not released in the body then there will be no periods. There are many symptoms of PCOS which include weight gain or loss, acne, hair loss etc.
Stress or overthinking
Stress not only harms mental health but also physical health. If you have a habit of overthinking or stressing, then the chances of missing your periods increase.
Thyroid conditions
The thyroid gland present in the body is a butterfly-shaped gland present at the base of the neck, which helps a lot in determining the correct timing of periods. If Thyroid gland is overactive, then you have hyperthyroidism and underactive, then you are suffering from hypothyroidism, due to which there may be irregularity in your periods.
