MG Comet EV: By the end of April, MG will likely announce pricing for the Comet EV with two doors. It could have different kinds of battery packs and a range of up to 300 km. Expected to have features like a rear parking camera and two 10.25-inch screens. Prices will likely start at about Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom).
One of the least expensive electric cars that MG makes for India might go on sale in April. The Comet EV, which was just announced, will be a two-door electric car for the mass market that will compete with the Citroen eC3 and Tata Tiago EV.
The MG Comet EV is basically the same car as the Air EV, which is sold in Indonesia under the Wuling brand, which is MG’s sister company. It is shorter than the Tata Nano in terms of length, but it is wider and taller than the Maruti Alto K10. In the entry-level MG EV, the cabin can fit up to four people.
5 Important Facts About the MG Comet EV
The micro EV is expected to have a lot of nice features, like two 10.25-inch touchscreens (one for the infotainment system and one for the driver’s gauges), connected car technology, automatic air conditioning, controls on the steering wheel, dual front airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), and a rear-view camera.
The car is powered by a 40PS electric motor
In Indonesia, you can get the Air (Comet) EV with either a 17.3kWh or a 26.7kWh battery pack. These packs give you a range of 200km or 300km, respectively. The car is powered by a 40PS electric motor that is fed by both batteries. We expect the Comet EV to come with both types of battery packs.
When it goes on sale in India, the MG Comet EV is likely to start at around Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom), and it could also be sold to fleet/commercial buyers.
