MIT electric vehicle team partners with a Korean company to develop a Hydrogen powered bike, all you need to know

MIT: The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Electric Vehicle Team and Doosan Mobility Innovation (DMI), a manufacturer of portable fuel cell power packs, announced their partnership on Thursday to work together to build a motorcycle powered by hydrogen fuel cells.

The team thinks that battery-powered vehicles are a stepping stone to hydrogen vehicles, which can address concerns about lithium mining and fix the range problems of BEVs.

MIT and Doosan mobility

The DM15 fuel cell module from DMI will be fitted into a motorcycle created and developed by the MIT EVT. The DM15 fuel cell is a state-of-the-art technology that offers mobile applications reliable, clean, and efficient electricity.

With a maximum output of 1.5 kilowatts, the DM15 is a portable, high-safety hydrogen fuel cell power pack module. Low noise levels and durability are other advantages.

This will be the first time the fuel cell module has been integrated into a motorbike, and the project will serve as a real-world testing environment for the DM15 fuel cell module, allowing DMI to collect useful data and feedback to enhance the module’s performance and durability and MIT EVT to demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of hydrogen-powered vehicles.
