Order withdrawn
Meanwhile, the Delhi government’s orders requiring 50 per cent of public employees to work from home and close schools was withdrawn. All primary schools that had been closed as the air quality deteriorated drastically, were reopened on Wednesday. They were closed in view of the severe air quality in Delhi. Yesterday, restrictions on outdoor activities for students in secondary schools were also lifted.
The entire Delhi NCR area – Delhi, NCR, Gurugram – showed ‘poor’ level of pollution. The average AQI was as follows:
Noida: Average AQI of 309.
Ghaziabad: Average AQI is 292.
Faridabad: Average AQI is 269.
Gurugram: Average AQI is 207.
Exercise caution
Experts said that though the pollution level was dropping daily, caution must be exercised because the air quality was not good enough.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department predicted that today’s maximum temperature in the NCR will be 30 degrees Celsius while minimum temperature could fall to 16 degrees Celsius. With the arrival of winter, the temperature has begun to drop.
The Delhi-NCR sky will remain clear today.
