Altroz Racer: Tata has confirmed that the Altroz Racer is coming but in a very strange way. Usually, a car company announces a new model by putting out a press kit or making a post on social media. However, the Altroz Racer was announced by responding to a comment on its social media account.
The prices will be disclosed on the day of launch
This was done by Tata’s official Altroz handle, so the news should be legit. According to the reply, a launch is coming soon, and the prices will be announced on the same day. If you were too busy at the Auto Expo to see the car being unveiled, read on:
Outside, the amount of sportiness has been turned up a notch. The bright red colour and blacked-out roof and wheels make the car look dangerous. The white stripes with a checkered flag pattern on the roofline and hood give the car a sporty look. When you add the red theme to the all-black cabin, you get a different and sportier feel.

The inside feels different because it has a sunroof and a bigger touchscreen infotainment screen (10.25 inches). The Altroz Racer also has a digital driver’s display with a seven-inch screen, ventilated front seats, an air purifier, and, most importantly, six airbags.
The Racer version of the Altroz is similar to the Hyundai i20’s N Line
The Racer version of the Altroz is similar to the Hyundai i20’s N Line. But unlike the other two, Tata has improved its powertrain instead of just making small changes to the mechanical parts. Now, that’s not such a bad thing, since the setup already has a great ride and great handling. It now comes with a more powerful engine from Tata: the Nexon’s 120PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine instead of the i-110PS Turbo’s 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, paired with a six-speed manual transmission instead of the i-five-speed Turbo’s manual transmission.
So it has the power to match how it looks. Since the Hyundai i20 N Line isn’t doing too badly, it makes sense to add the Altroz Racer to the hot hatch market to spice things up. We hope the launch will happen soon, and when it does, you can expect the price to be higher than the current prices of the i-Turbo variants, which range from Rs 8.35 lakh to Rs 9.55 lakh (ex-showroom).
