Nitish Kumar To Meet Governor Amid Bihar Political Crisis

JD(U) has sought time from Bihar Governor Fagu Chauhan. Sources reveal that the Chief Minister has asked the Governor for meeting today.

In view of the Bihar political crisis, the round of meetings is going on today.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is meeting with his MLAs to decide whether the alliance should continue. “Expect explosive news,” a senior leader from his party said ahead of the meeting.

BJP leader Naval Kishore Yadav has said, “This is an old situation in Bihar. Meetings are part of politics and democracy. Congress is a party that lives in hope, so they only dream. Hardly any other party keeps an eye on the politics, ideas, democracy and dignity of the people as much as the BJP. It will be seen throughout the history of democracy that our party (BJP) moves forward with confidence and patience.”

CPI(ML) leader Mehboob Alam met RJD leaders today. Talking to reporters after the meeting, he said, “For a long time the people of Bihar wanted the government to go with the BJP and form the government of the people. The BJP, which captured Parliament, wanted to do the same in the Bihar assembly but we will thwart their intentions. We will support to oust BJP from power.”

There is a possibility of changing the political equation in Bihar. There are speculations that perhaps JDU and RJD will form the government together. In this connection, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has called a meeting of its MLAs at 11 am today. Earlier on Monday, the Congress party had also called a meeting of its legislature party.

However, Amit Shah has spoken to Nitish Kumar over the phone.

In the Bihar Assembly Election 2020, out of 243 seats, Nitish party JDU won 45 seats. Whereas BJP had won 77 seats. Despite JDU winning fewer seats, the BJP had made Nitish the Chief Minister and handed over the command of the state to him. In Bihar Assembly Elections 2020, Rashtriya Janata Dal won 79 seats and Indian National Congress 19 seats.
