Petrol and Diesel Price Update: Sunday, December 25, 2022 remain unchanged in the price of petrol and diesel. A cut in excise duties for petrol and diesel of Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre, respectively, was announced by Nirmala Sitharaman, the finance minister, on May 21. The Maharashtra government announced a cut in VAT of Rs 5 per litre for petrol and Rs 3 per litre for diesel from July 15.

Petrol prices are revised daily by Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum, taking into account crude and rupee-to-dollar rates in global markets. Every day at six in the morning, fuel price increases take effect.
