PM Narendra Modi: “Zero tolerance” against corruption

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for “zero tolerance” against corruption. The Prime Minister said that the agencies and officers working against the corrupt and corruption need not be afraid or defensive while doing their work. He said the corrupt should not run away “at any cost” and should not get political or social security. PM Modi said that corruption is such an evil that we should stay away from it.

‘We are trying to change the system created by deprivation and pressure for the last 8 years’ he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was speaking at a program organized at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi on the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week. “We have seen that many times corrupt people are glorified even after being proven corrupt and going to jail,” he said. According to media reports, he said that this situation is not good for the Indian society. Even today some people argue in favor of the corrupt found guilty. It is very important to make such people, such forces aware of their duty by the society.

Corruption should not be saved at any cost

The Prime Minister exhorted the law enforcement agencies not to succumb to the pressure of powerful people in taking action against the corrupt. According to reports, he said that no matter how powerful corrupt people are, they should not be saved under any circumstances, it is the responsibility of organizations like you. It is also necessary to create such an environment that no corrupt should get political-social support, society should put corrupt people in the dock.”

The Prime Minister also suggested that government departments should be ranked on anti-corruption efforts and pending corruption cases against officials should be decided in a timely manner. “We need to finalize the disciplinary proceedings against government officials on mission mode,” he said. Anti-corruption watchdog Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) has organized Vigilance Awareness Week named ‘Corruption Free India for Developed Nation’, which started on 31st October.

Vigilance Awareness Week will end on 6th November. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had reached on the fourth day of this program, where he also launched a complaint management system portal of CVC. Common citizens will be able to register their complaints against corruption on this portal. Apart from these, information about the action taken on their complaints will also be given on the portal of CVC.
