Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has given a strange statement regarding the increasing crimes in the state. He has said that 90 percent of the crimes in Goa are committed by migrant laborers. He said that migrant laborers go to their home states after committing crimes and the government does not even have any data about them. Pramod Sawant has said that the migrant laborers must get the labor card of the state made.
In fact, on Labor Day on May 1, Pramod Sawant appealed to the migrant laborers during a program in Panaji that every migrant laborer working in the state should have a labor card.
He said that his government had promised to provide labor card in the budget as well and all laborers must have this card.
Migrant laborers commit 90 per cent crimes
Regarding the crimes happening in Goa, Pramod Sawant said that after committing crimes in the state, migrant laborers go to their home states and it becomes very difficult for the police to catch them and take action. Regarding the ratio of crime in Goa, the CM said, “If we see the ratio, maximum 90 percent of the crimes in Goa are committed by migrant laborers. Whether they are from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh or other areas.”
Police will get help in action
Regarding reducing crime in the state, Pramod Sawant said that the government has included 2 NGOs in the scheme to issue cards to all the laborers, who will cooperate with the government in this work.
CM has informed that this facility will start soon. He said that after this, if there is a need in any case, this card will prove to be helpful for the police and criminals can be caught easily.
