Acharya Pramod: Days after meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Acharya Pramod Krishnam, who was banished from the Congress due to his anti-party statements, declared on Sunday that “there can be no compromise”.
Meeting with PM Modi
In a post on X, he said, “Ram and Rashtra… But there can be no compromise.” In a statement released on Saturday, the Congress President declared that he had “approved the proposal of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee to expel Pramod Krishnam from the party immediately for a period of six years”.
According to the statement, “complaints of indiscipline and repeated public statements against the party” prompted the decision. Krishnam met with Prime Minister Modi earlier this month, inviting him to the February 19 foundation stone-laying ceremony at Shri Kalki Dham.
Krishnam Expresses Gratitude to PM Modi for Ceremony Acceptance
“Heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the honourable prime minister for accepting this,” he said in a post on X. The Prime Minister responded by thanking him for the invitation and stating that it was “a privilege for me to be a part of this sacred occasion associated with faith and devotion”.
Last month, Krishnam called it “unfortunate” that opposition leaders had chosen not to attend the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22. “Not even a Muslim, a priest, or a Christian can turn down Lord Ram’s invitation. India’s soul belongs to Ram. India cannot even be envisaged without Ram, observed Acharya Pramod at the time.
