Adani row has given much needed oxygen to the opposition to train its guns against the ruling dispensation at the centre. Until last week the opposition was looking dispirited and directionless, as if they were searching for an issue which will enthuse and energize them.
Adani row unites Opposition; till then it was searching for an issue to take on the Government
However it seems that Adani Row has come as a Bramhastra for the opposition to hurl it at Modi Government with full force in the budget session of the Parliament.
Nine parties have come together and demanded a discussion in parliament on US based short seller Hindenburg Reasearch’s allegation against the Adani Group.
A spring in the feet was visible among leading opposition parties and they demanded an investigation by a parliamentary panel or a Supreme Court appointed committee into allegations of fraud against the Adani Group that have triggered an unprecedented stock crash.

Opposition has been adamant in demanding the suspension of regular parliament proceedings to discuss the risk Indian investor’s face from the continued slide in shares of the Adani Group following fraud claims by US short seller Hindenburg Research. The issue has united the opposition parties like never before and leaders from 13 parties including the Trinamool Congress, Aam Aadmi Party , Samajwadi Party , DMK, Janata Dal United and the left had a huddle to discuss joint strategy to take on the Central Government during the budget session in the chamber of the Leader of
Opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge.
Opposition ire has reached a crescendo pitch and nine parties have filed a notice for discussing the Adani stock in the parliament. In Rajya Sabha , the motion was moved by Mr.Kharge , the Congress Chief. In Lok Sabha , similar adjournment motion was filed by AAP leader Sanjay Singh and K Keshava Rao , an MP from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and and Congress Chief whip Manickram Tagore.

Bharath Rashtra Samithi (BRS)
“exposes the dangers to which the Indian people and economy are subjected to”.
AAP MP Sanjay Singh had this to say,
“I have written a letter to PM (Prime Minister Narendra Modi), Enforcement Directorate, and the CBI demanding the confiscation of [Gautam] Adani’s passport, or else If he also flees from the country like other industrialists and capitalists, then crores of people of this country will be left with nothing.”
