Arvind Kejriwal: National convener of the Aam Aadmi Party and Delhi Chief Minister, said on Sunday that China is watching India from the border and that our government is shaking hands with China. Speaking at the AAP’s national council meeting in Delhi, Kejriwal also stated that our soldiers are fighting with China and risking their lives at the border for the sake of the country, while the Indian government is rewarding them. Instead of responding forcefully, our government is purchasing goods from China, he added.
On Sunday, party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal presided over the meeting.
At the Aam Aadmi Party’s National Council meeting, all elected representatives and key office bearers from various states were invited to discuss the party’s pan-India expansion plan.
The Council meeting was held to discuss the AAP’s efforts to strengthen its base in various parts of the country and devise the party’s strategy for the upcoming assembly polls in various states next year, with an eye on the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, according to party sources.
The meeting was attended by all ten AAP Rajya Sabha MPs, and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will also discuss “inflation, unemployment, and Chinese incursion” and pass separate resolutions on each, according to media, citing sources stated.

About the AAP National Council Meeting
The meeting took place at a resort in Delhi’s Kapashera neighbourhood. This meeting is significant because it comes so soon after the Gujarat assembly elections, in which the AAP won five seats and nearly 13 percent of the vote. As a result, the Arvind Kejriwal-led party is now eligible for National Party status from the Election Commission.
The AAP also ended the BJP’s 15-year reign in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) by defeating the saffron party in earlier this month’s civic body elections.
The one-day meeting is being held to discuss the party’s performance in the Gujarat Assembly elections, which were held in two phases on December 1 and December 5, respectively. According to party sources, the AAP’s Gujarat unit hoped to win more than 45 seats in the 182-member Gujarat legislative assembly.
However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) remained the biggest gainer, winning 156 seats in the three-cornered contest and retaining power in Gujarat. The Congress remained the state’s main opposition, but it only managed to win 17 seats and a 27 percent vote share, with the AAP significantly eating into its space in the assembly elections.
“The meeting will discuss the AAP’s performance in Gujarat assembly polls and plans to further strengthen the party’s base in the state,” a party source told the media.

Meeting is crucial
A source in the party told the media, “It’s a very crucial meeting as it is happening for the first time after the party’s achievements in Punjab, Goa, Gujarat, and MCD elections. This meeting is more significant because the AAP has become a national party now and we have our national expansion plan.”
“It’s a very crucial meeting as it is happening for the first time after the party’s achievements in Punjab, Goa, Gujarat, and MCD elections. This meeting is more significant because the AAP has become a national party now and we have our national expansion plan,” a party source told PTI.
“All of the AAP’s elected representatives (MLAs and MPs) from Delhi, Punjab, Goa, and Gujarat, as well as key office bearers from the party’s state units, were invited to the meeting,” a source told PTI. “They will talk about the political scenario in their respective states and update the council with the efforts taken so far to strengthen the party’s base. They will discuss the party’s future plans”, according to the source.
Based on their feedback, the party will fine-tune its strategy for carrying out its national expansion plan, “with a primary focus on upcoming assembly elections in various states,” according to the source.
Pathak, a former IIT-Delhi faculty member and AAP Rajya Sabha MP, is credited with the party’s resounding victory in the Punjab assembly elections. He was the AAP’s election coordinator in Gujarat. According to sources, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and other senior party leaders attended the day-long meeting.
