Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra has reached Karnal district from Panipat in Haryana on Saturday (January 7) morning. Other senior Congress leaders participated along with Rahul Gandhi during the visit to Karnal. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra was not an exercise to project Rahul Gandhi as the prime ministerial candidate for the 2024 general elections.
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said. ‘This Bharat Jodo Yatra is not to project Rahul Gandhi as the Prime Ministerial candidate.’ He said that this is an ideological journey, whose main face is Rahul Gandhi. He said that this Bharat Jodo Yatra is not the journey of any one person. Olympic medalist boxer Vijender Singh and senior Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda as well as Randeep Singh Surjewala have also participated during the Bharat Jodo Yatra of Karnal.
Three big issues of Bharat Jodo Yatra
Jairam Ramesh Hariyan asserted that in the Kanyakumari to Kashmir foot march, Rahul Gandhi has raised three major issues, which include economic inequality, social polarization and political authoritarianism.
Encouraged by the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Congress leaders are projecting Rahul Gandhi as the prime ministerial candidate. After Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath, now Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that as a party worker, he wants the 2024 general elections to be fought under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi. Congress leaders want Rahul Gandhi to be projected as the prime ministerial candidate in 2024. On the other hand, BJP says that it is just a daydream.
Bharat Jodo Yatra started from Kanyakumari on 7th September
Bharat Jodo Yatra re-entered Haryana from Uttar Pradesh on Thursday evening. Rahul Gandhi addressed a rally in Panipat on Friday and criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party government for the economy as well as unemployment. The first leg of the yatra in Haryana from December 21 to 23 covered a distance of 130 kilometers and passed through Nuh, Gurugram and Faridabad districts. The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ began on September 7 from Kanyakumari and will conclude on January 30 in Srinagar with the unfurling of the national flag by Rahul Gandhi.
