RJD has nominated Mukesh Roshan from Mahua assembly constituency. Tej Pratap Yadav won the last time from this seat in the second phase. This seat has also been considered safe for the RJD. Now he is certain to contest from Hasanpur. Mukesh was handed the symbol by RJD.

Amidst the rumor of wife Aishwarya Rai contesting from Mahua, Tej Pratap Yadav announced to leave Mahua seat and contest from Hasanpur. He is also continuously active in Hasanpur.
Shwasur Chandrika Yadav had indicated that Aishwarya could contest from Mahua or Hasanpur seat. It may be noted that Tejapratap Yadav filed for divorce only after six months of marriage to Aishwarya Rai. Both are facing divorce case in court.
