BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya booked over false video on Rahul Gandhi

FIR has been lodged against BJP IT Cell's Amit Malviya

Amit Malviya: The Karnataka police has lodged an FIR against BJP’s IT cell head Amit Malviya for sharing a video against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. On Tuesday, Ramesh Babu, co-chairman, KPCC Communication and Social Media Department had issued a complaint against Malviya at the High Grounds Police Station. The complaint was based on a June 17 tweet and accusation has been made over conspiring to create animosity among voters.

Video attempts to spoil communal harmony

Amit Malviya has been booked under multiple clauses of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Sction 120 B for criminal conspiracy, section 34 for acts done by several persons in promoting similar interest, section 153 (A) for promoting enmity between different groups and section 505(2) for statements creating promoting enmity hatred or ill will between classes.

Babu has alleged that Malviya’s remarks like “Rahul Gandhi is dangerous and playing an insidious game” and “more dangerous are people who are pulling strings of #Raga like Sam P(itroda), staunchly anti India, they leave no stone unturned to defame India overseas, just to embarrass Hon’ble PM @narendramodi ji” were aimed at inciting antagonism among communities and promote hatred.

Complaint against Nadda too

A complaint was filed by Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge and Ramesh Babu on behalf of Indian National Congress. Kharge is also an executive member of KPCC. The complaint also featured BJP President JP Nadda and Chandigarh BJP chief Arun Sood. The grounds for this claim were similar to Babu’s written complaint in Karnataka police station which was used to launch FIR against Malviya.
