BJP Youth Front leader Pamela Goswami arrested on charges of cocaine smuggling, she has been sent to police custody till 25 February. The state secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha Pamela along with her friend Prabir Kumar Dey were arrested on Friday.
Kolkata Police officials said that while acting on a secret information, the police stopped the car and during the search, 100 grams of cocaine was found from his handbag and car.
The BJP has also come on the backfoot since Pamela’s arrest in the drugs case. Since Pamela’s arrest, she is widely discussed on social media. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘agitator’ sarcasm is now being used against social media users Pamela and there is a trend of # cocaineGV on Twitter.
A police officer says that she was arrested by the New Alipure police station on the basis of secret information. He said, ‘Goswami was involved in smuggling of drugs for some time. We were informed that she along with her colleague Prabir is coming to supply drugs to the buyer.
Pamela Goswami joined BJP in 2019. She started her career in modeling. After this, she also worked as an air hostess. Then she stepped into the world of Bengali television.
