BJP Leader BL Santhosh summoned by Telangana police in MLAs’ poaching case

MLAs’ poaching case: BJP leader BL Santhosh has been summoned by the Telangana police over his party’s alleged attempts to “buy” four MLAs from Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao’s TRS. National General Secretary (Organisation) of the BJP BL Santhosh has been asked to appear on November 21 failing which he will be arrested.

Earlier the High Court had ruled that the police could continue investigation but also ordered that a judge will monitor it.

Three held for Rs 100 cr offer

On October 26, a case was filed by Pilot Rohith Reddy, one of the legislators, under relevant sections – criminal conspiracy, offering bribe and provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 – against—Ramachandra Bharati alias Satish Sharma, Nanda Kumar and Simhayaji Swamy—on the night of October 26.

The three men were arrested for allegedly making “an offer of ₹ 100 crore” to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) legislators at a farmhouse. They were later let off on bail.

KCR parades four MLAs

KCR also called a press conference where he showed videos on poaching of his party’s MLAs by the BJP. In the press conference he alleged that all this was being done at the behest of PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He also paraded the four MLAs who had allegedly recorded the poaching attempt.

Meanwhile, BJP termed the allegations as “staged” and said the videos were recorded with hired actors.

TRS MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy had said in his complaint that the three men said that cases would be filed against them through central agencies such as the CBI if they did not take the offer.
