Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released the list of its 30 star campaigners regarding the Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) elections. The first name in this list is that of AAP Convenor Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Along with this, many Punjab ministers including Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha Sanjay Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh are also included in the list of star campaigners.
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, all ministers of Delhi including Manish Sisodia, 3 ministers of Punjab and former minister Rajendra Pal Gautam are also included in the list of star campaigns. Apart from these, the party’s Rajya Sabha MPs Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and cricketer Harbhajan Singh have also been given the responsibility of campaigning for the party in the corporation elections as star campaigners.
BJP raised questions
BJP, AAP and Congress are putting their full strength in the MCD elections. All the three political parties are engaged in laying their respective boards. On the other hand, BJP has targeted the name of Rajendra Pal Gautam in the list of AAP’s star campaigns. Delhi BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana said that in view of the Gujarat elections, Rajendra Pal Gautam was removed as a minister, but to please a special community, Rajendra Pal Gautam was included in the list of star campaigners in the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections. This is the double face of the party.
Election for 250 wards on December 4
The process of filing nomination for the MCD elections started from November 7 and the last date for this is November 14. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on November 16, while the last date for withdrawal of nominations is November 19. Since no nomination papers will be accepted by the returning officers on 12-13 November due to a public holiday, there is a possibility of a rush of people filing nominations on 14 November. Elections for 250 wards of MCD will be held on December 4, while the counting of votes will take place on December 7.
