The BJP was granted permission by the Calcutta High Court on Friday to organise a rally on December 3 in Diamond Harbor, the stronghold of TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee. Justice Rajshekhar Mehta gave the permission to hold the rally with the condition that it wouldn’t inconvenience the common and there wouldn’t be any untoward incidents.

On December 3, the BJP filed a petition with the Calcutta High Court asking for permission to hold a rally at the Light House Ground in Diamond Harbor. On the same day, Abhishek Banerjee will hold a rally in East Midnapore, the constituency of BJP leader and Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari.

Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal Government had denied permission to BJP for holding rally
High drama ensued when BJP, and Suvendu Adhikari were denied permission to host a rally in Diamond Harbour South 24 Pargana, the West Bengal government led by Mamata Banerjee, the BJP was forced to approach the Calcutta High Court. Suvendu Adhikari said in a Twitter post that the West Bengal government has no regard for the judiciary and has made every effort to block and disrupt his rally just after the Calcutta High Court granted permission for it.

An impassioned Suvendu Adhikari further alleged that ‘Koyala Bhaipo’ deployed men in uniform to disrupt the arrangements made for the rally. Abhishek Banerjee has been referred to as “Koyla Bhaipoo” by the BJP.
Both the BJP and the TMC have begun their panchayat election campaigns on a war footing level, leaving nothing to chance.
