Days after resigning as the Punjab’s former chief minister, Captain Amarinder Singh is likely to meet the rebel G-23 leaders of the Congress. This group includes senior congress leaders who are upset with current leadership.
Amid raging speculation over former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s next political move, the Congress stalwart on Wednesday met Union home minister Amit Shah at the latter’s residence. Amarinder Singh’s meeting with Amit Shah lasted for nearly an hour.
Kapil Sibal, one of the G-23’s leaders, questioned the Congress leadership on Wednesday, saying the party was in a situation it shouldn’t be in.

“In our party, there is no president. So we don’t know who is taking these decisions. We know and yet we don’t know,” Kapil Sibal said.
Kapil Sibal is a part of the G-23 leaders, who wrote a strongly worded letter to party president Sonia Gandhi last year, raising questions over the manner in which the party was being led.
Ghulam Nabi Azad, another Congress leader who is a part of the G-23, wrote a letter to Sonia Gandhi, asking her to convene an urgent meeting of the Congress Working Committee to hold discussions.
