The Congress hits back on Friday after BJP leader JP Nadda called the Rahul Gandhi as “anti-national,” as tension over the BJP MPs’ demand for Rahul Gandhi to apologise for allegedly insulting Indian democracy in the UK rose.
Rahul Gandhi, according to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, is a true patriot who talks about democracy and expresses care for it. According to Kharge’s tweet, anti-nationals are people who have done absolutely nothing to further their nation’s independence. “Anti-nationals are those who have zero contribution to the country’s freedom struggle,” Kharge tweeted
Rahul Gandhi did not make any comments in the UK, according to Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, for which he should apologise. “Democracy, in our country, is in danger and everyone should know about it. I didn’t hear anything wrong in it”, Shashi Tharoor said.
“Is such a person now calling us anti-national?”
Kharge further said in a tweet.
Attacks on Rahul Gandhi are being made in order to distract attention from the “horrifying” unemployment, price increases, and Adani issues. Kharge continued, saying that if anyone needed to apologise, it was PM Modi, who claimed on foreign soil that being an Indian citizen was a sin.
