Congress MLA’s Question on RaGa Flying Kiss Creates Stir, Says ‘Why would Rahul Gandhi blow flying kiss to 50-year-old?’

Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi: Neetu Singh, a Bihar state representative for the Congress, sparked a new argument when she poked fun at Union Minister Smriti Irani in reaction to the ongoing “flying kiss” scandal involving Rahul Gandhi. Neetu was shown in a video message wondering why the Congress MP would deliver a flying kiss to a 50-year-old woman when he had no shortage of young girls. The video message has now gone viral on social media. Additionally, the Congress MLA from the Bihar assembly district of Hisua asserted that the BJP was attempting to damage Rahul Gandhi’s reputation by exploiting the continuing “flying kiss” controversy.

Neetu Singh’s Remark Sparks Heated Political Exchange

“Our leader Rahul Gandhi does not have dearth of girls. If he has to give a flying kiss, he would give it too a girl and why would he give it to a 50 year ‘budhi'(old) woman like Smriti Irani. All these allegations against Rahul Gandhi are baseless”, Neetu Singh said. In the meantime, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacked the Congress harshly for Singh’s remarks. Party spokeswoman Gaurav Bhatia criticised Neetu Singh on X (previously Twitter) and called her comments towards Smriti Irani “shameful.” Shehzad Poonawala, a spokesman for the BJP, echoed Bhatia in saying that the Congress is a “anti-women party” and that it would do anything to defend its leader Rahul Gandhi.

Smriti Irani Slams Rahul Gandhi’s Flying Kiss

On Wednesday, Smriti Irani called Rahul Gandhi a sexist and said the House had never seen such a “indecent act” after he gave a flying kiss in the Lok Sabha. Later, BJP women MPs requested “stringent action” against Gandhi when they met with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The Congress member allegedly made the “inappropriate gesture” towards Irani while speaking in the House during the discussion of the no-confidence motion against the government, according to a complaint signed by more than 20 female lawmakers.
