Opposition meets in Patna
About 20 opposition parties will attempt to showcase unity at the Patna meeting to be held on June 23. The meeting comes after the recent conclusion of opposition meet on June 12. The flare-up in Manipur, the Brij Bhusan probe and revision of NCERT curriculum are some of the other issues that could be discussed in the meeting. Nitish Kumar concluded his national tour in an effort to unite the opposition last month. Bihar holds historical significance as center of Political defiance against central governments. As Nitish will be leading the opposition meet, he will hope to unite opposition coordinatively for 2024 Lok Sabha polls, unlike the situation in 2019. The parties are likely to formulate one cohesive strategy to agitate against BJP in run up to general elections.
