Cows do more good than Left govt, says Kerala BJP chief K Surendran

Kerala BJP president K Surendran on Thursday welcomed the Animal Welfare Board’s appeal to observe Cow Hug Day on February 14, saying that cows do more good to the people in the state than the Left government led by Pinarayi Vijayan. He claims that cows have contributed more to Kerala than ministers.

Accusing the Kerala government of destroying the agriculture sector, Surendran said that cows help people earn income. We all know that the cow is the backbone of Indian culture and rural economy, sustains our lives, and represents animal wealth and biodiversity. It is known as ‘Kamadhenu’ and ‘Gaumata’, because of its nourishing nature, like that of a mother, the giver. For all, providing wealth to humanity”.

“This government is destroying the agriculture sector. Cows help farmers. No one said to skip Valentine’s Day. The only advice was to respect cows,” he said when he was asked about the recent notification to hug cows on Valentine’s Day.

Scientific significance of hugging a cow

You would be surprised to know, but science is hidden in an appeal by the Animal Welfare Board. It has been told in a media report that hugging a cow is not only good for their health but also for the health of humans. This gives positive energy to the body and also increases the oxytocin hormone which reduces stress. Hormones are made in the body during social bonding. Apart from this, spending some time with pets, playing and sitting with them gives peace of mind.
