There is good news for the consumers who are unable to apply for electricity subsidy. The Kejriwal government has extended the last date for taking subsidy on electricity under the free electricity scheme till November 15. Earlier its last date was 31 October.
People using up to 200 units of electricity in Delhi do not have to pay any bills. Also, those who use up to 400 units of electricity, they also get some discount in the bill. A few days ago, the Delhi government has made changes in this rule, now people can take advantage of subsidy as per their wish. To take advantage of the subsidy, one can apply both online and offline, the last date of which was 31 October. Those who could not apply for the subsidy have been given a chance once again till November 15. People applying for subsidy after November 15 will have to pay the bill for the month of October.
How to Apply for Free Electricity Subsidy
- First Method
A form will be available with your electricity bill. In this form, you will have to fill all the information, as well as tell whether you want subsidy or not. After filling the form submit it to the electricity department. In doing so, the subsidy will continue.
- Another Way
You have to write Hi on WhatsApp number- 70113111111, after that the message will come. The message will read ‘Welcome to Delhi Government Power Subsidy portal. To avail Delhi power subsidy, please proceed.’ After this, please select language to proceed further will be written. You can choose the language according to your convenience. Then the CA number (which is written on the bill) will be asked further. After entering that, confirm the details. Then you will be registered for subsidy.
- Third way
You can also apply for subsidy by calling the number- 70113111111.
- Fourth way
A QR code will be found in your electricity bill, you can also apply for subsidy by scanning it.
So far about 35 lakh people have applied
There are about 58 lakh electricity consumers in the capital Delhi, out of which 47 lakh people get subsidy on electricity. After the change in the rule, so far about 35 lakh people have applied for the subsidy. To give a chance to the remaining consumers, the last date has been extended till November 15.
