Election for ten seats of Rajya Sabha will be held on July 24. Elections will be held on six seats in West Bengal, three in Gujarat and one in Goa.
The tenure of Derek O’Brien, Dola Sen, Pradeep Bhattacharya, Sushmita Dev, Shanta Chhetri and Sukhendu Shekhar Ray in West Bengal ends on August 18.
The tenure of Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, Dinesh Jemalbhai Anavadiya and Lokhandwala Jugal Singh Mathurji from Gujarat is ending on 18 August. Vinay Tendulkar’s tenure from Goa ends on July 28.
According to the reports, S Jaishankar’s re-election to Rajya Sabha is being considered fixed while BJP may give a chance to two new faces. BJP’s victory on these three seats is being considered certain.
Let us tell you that elections will be held on July 24 for all the seats in these three states. The date of nomination for the election will be July 13.
The by-election for the Rajya Sabha seat vacated by the resignation of Luzinho Joaquim Faleiro in West Bengal will also be held on July 24. The tenure of this seat is till April 2, 2026.

The formula is that how many Rajya Sabha seats are vacant in a state, 1 is added to it, then it is divided by the total number of assembly seats. The number that comes from this, then 1 is added to it
