Today is the second day of the budget session of the Bihar Legislature. Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister cum Finance Minister Tarkishore Prasad is presenting the budget. This year the size of the budget will be around 2.32 lakh crores. Which can be about 12 to 15 thousand crores more than last year. The budget of the government may be on infrastructure and employment in the budget. This time in the budget, the expenditure on salary, pension, loan and interest payment (establishment and committed expenditure) may increase from 1.17 lakh crore to 1.29 lakh crore. The expenditure on various schemes may also increase slightly. Earlier, the share of Bihar in central taxes has been fixed at 82138 crores in the Union Budget. This is about five thousand crores more than the amount earmarked for the current financial year. Due to this, the state government will be compensated for the loss in its revenue during the Corona period.
The upcoming budget for the financial year 2022-23 is expected to focus on entrepreneurship development and development of rural areas to accelerate the development of infrastructure and employment generation and economic activities that have remained stagnant in the last two years due to Covid.
According to sources in the Finance Department, initiatives are likely to be taken especially in the direction of providing employment to the people who have returned during the Corona period. At the same time, in the Economic Survey presented this year, on the basis of the data of the financial year 2020-21, the economic condition of the state has been analyzed. In the Economic Survey, information has been given about the continuation of economic activities in the state even during the Corona period and the efforts of the state government to maintain a strong position of the economy.

Under the Saksham Mahila Saksham Mahila Yojana, 25 thousand unmarried women are being helped on passing the intermediate, 50 thousand are being assisted on passing graduation, in this item a provision of 900 crores has been made in 2022-23.
The Finance Minister announced in the budget speech – 151 factories will be set up for ethanol production in Bihar. He said that the growth rate is expected to be 9.7 in the financial year 2022-23. He said that the government is committed for the welfare of scheduled castes, tribes and minorities.
The Finance Minister said that 16,134 crores have been allocated to improve health security. He said that 65 percent of the budget would be spent in the social sector.
Finance Minister Tarkishore said that this year Bihar is the state which has achieved the highest economic growth rate across the country. Private investment in Bihar will give impetus to the economy. He said that the government’s emphasis would be on health, education, industry, agriculture, infrastructure, welfare of different sections. In Bihar, more than 8 crore people have been vaccinated.
Deputy CM said that dearness allowance is being paid regularly. Despite Bihar having limited resources, the development of the state continues. There are continuous welfare schemes going on in Bihar. Help is being given to the poor and weaker sections.
