Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, both prominent politicians in Jammu and Kashmir, will be in Bihar’s capital the next week in time for the June 23 conclave of parties opposed to the BJP, according to a significant political aide to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Rajiv Ranjan Singh Lalan, the national president of the JD(U), revealed this on Sunday at the party’s Bihar headquarters.
“In all, leaders of 18 parties have agreed to attend the meeting. National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, both former chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir, have also agreed to come”, said Lalan.
Earlier, Lalan had stated that a number of leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge from the Congress, Arvind Kejriwal (AAP), Mamata Banerjee (TMC), M K Stalin (DMK), Hemant Soren (JMM), Sharad Pawar (NCP), Akhilesh Yadav (SP), and Uddhav Thackeray (Shiv Sena-UBT) had also given their consent.
