People across the country have been shocked at the rape incident of 19 year old girl in Hathras and the funeral performed late at night.
Separate statements of family and police administration are raising many questions in this case while netizens are demanding justice for her.
Meanwhile, convoys of former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who were going to meet the victim’s family, were stopped by the Noida Police.
After being stopped they left for Hathras on foot. later, the police arrested both Congress leaders on the Yamuna Expressway. And Rahul Gandhi said that the police physically harmed him. Notably, distance of Hathras is 142 kilometers from where Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were stopped.
The Opposition leaders also came down hard on the Yogi government. While NCP chief Pawar called the “reckless behaviour” of UP Police towards Rahul Gandhi “extremely condemnable”. DMK president M K Stalin demanded that UP CM Yogi Adityanath apologise for the “inhumane treatment” meted out to Gandhi.
On the other hand, Hathras District Collector P.K. Laxkar said that ” Section 144 of CrPC has been implemented in the district, which will remain in effect till October 31. All the boundaries of the district have been sealed”. Importantly, on September 14, a 19-year-old girl from a village in Hathras district was allegedly gang-raped.
At the same time, the post-mortem report of the girl has also come.
The girl was earlier admitted to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in Aligarh due to spinal cord injury and tongue biting. She was then taken to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, where she died on Tuesday. The post mortem report stated that the cervical spine was broken due to strangulation.
While the post-mortem conducted by the panel of doctors of Safdarjung Hospital said that the woman died of a broken bone. The report said that the bone was broken due to repeated throats. There are also bruises on the neck. Significantly, the report does not mention rape.
