On Thursday, the Jharkhand government issued the helpline, landline and WhatsApp numbers of the state control room for the people of the state trapped in Ukraine amid the Russian aggression that started in Ukraine.
The Hemant Soren-led government in Jharkhand will bear the cost of travel for residents of the state wishing to return from war-torn Ukraine. The Jharkhand Chief Minister said in a post on Twitter on Saturday, “The state government along with the Center is making every effort to provide all possible help to the people trapped in Ukraine. Amidst the deepening crisis in Ukraine, the state government will bear the cost of returning home to the residents of Jharkhand.
Earlier on Thursday, the Jharkhand government had issued the helpline, landline and WhatsApp numbers of the state control room for the people of the state trapped in Ukraine amid the Russian aggression that started in Ukraine. People with knowledge of the matter in the Chief Minister’s Office said that so far about three dozen people have contacted the state control room and sought help.
A day earlier, on Friday, the Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Odisha governments had also offered to bear the entire travel expenses of the stranded students. It is known that after the Russian attack on Thursday, Ukraine has closed its airspace. Telangana Government has set up helplines at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi and State Secretariat in Hyderabad to help students and citizens of Telangana stranded in Ukraine. Tamil Nadu government has started a helpline in Chennai.
