How can a man with only 4 goats wear a Rs. 5 lakh watch, DMK criticises Annamalai

Tamil Nadu: Senthil Balaji, a Tamil Nadu minister, took to Twitter to criticise state BJP chief Annamalai for his expensive Bell & Ross limited edition Rafale watch, demanding that the saffron party leader show proof of purchase.

“Only 500 pieces of the Rafale watch were made for the French company, costing Rs 5 lakh. A man who claims to own only four goats is wearing this watch! Can he share the receipt of the watch he bought?”  Senthil Balaji inquired.

About the controversy

The controversy erupted after BJP leader Annamalai was photographed wearing a Bell & Ross Rafale limited edition watch created to commemorate the Dassault fighter aircraft.

“This watch will be with me until I die. This is a collector’s edition. Who else can buy except us Indians? For our nation, this watch was made using parts from Rafale aircraft by Dassault. Only after Rafale entered, the rules of war changed, increasing India’s reach substantially,” replying to the allegations made by the DMK minister, Annamalai said.

Annamalai claimed to be wearing the 149th of the 500 watches produced by the company.
