Just before the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh in 2022, the Income Tax Department has appointed National Secretary and Spokesperson of the state main opposition Samajwadi Party, Rajiv Rai. Raids have been conducted at the places located in Mau. This action of income tax has stirred up. Samajwadi Party workers created a ruckus at Rajiv Rai residence and opposed the action of the central agency.
Earlier, on Saturday, Income Tax Department officials along with a large number of police forces had arrived at Rajiv Rai residence.
News agency ANI has written that the accomplices of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav have been raided at the places. Sources have been told that raids have also been conducted at the house of RCL Group owner Manoj Yadav in Mainpuri.

News agency ANI quoted Rajiv Rai as saying, ‘This is the Income Tax Department. I do not have any criminal background nor do I have any black money. I help people and the government did not like it. This is the result of that. Whatever you do, they will make a video, file an FIR, do unnecessary cases. There is no use, let the process be completed.’
Rajiv Rai is considered close to Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and he is considered the main architect of forming the SP government in the state in 2012. Rai also runs several educational institutions in Karnataka. He is the Chairman of RVK Group of Institutions. In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Ghosi was the SP candidate from the parliamentary constituency.
