Jagdeep Dhankhar to investigate the alleged breach of privilege by 12 opposition MPs

Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has asked a parliamentary committee to probe the alleged breach of privilege by 12 opposition MPs of Congress and AAP for repeatedly entering the Well of the House, raising slogans and disrupting the proceedings of the House. Who is told. According to the bulletin of Rajya Sabha, 9 MPs are from Congress and 3 from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The Congress MPs are Shaktisinh Gohil, Naranbhai J Rathwa, Syed Nasir Hussain, Kumar Ketkar, Imran Pratapgarhi, L Hanumanthaiah, Phoolo Devi Netam, JB Mather Hisham and Ranjit Ranjan. AAP’s members are Sanjay Singh, Sushil Kumar Gupta and Sandeep Kumar Pathak.

In a bulletin dated February 18, the Rajya Sabha Secretariat said that Chairman referred a question of alleged breach of privilege arising out of grossly disorderly conduct displayed by MP. These opposition MPs had repeatedly and deliberately obstructed the proceedings of the Council by entering the well of the Council, raising slogans. They were forcing the Chairman to adjourn the meetings of the council time and again. Doing so is against the rules and etiquette of the Rajya Sabha. The Rajya Sabha witnessed repeated disruptions due to protests by opposition MPs on various issues during the first phase of the budget session that ended earlier this month.

Rajya Sabha Secretariat issued notice

In another notice, the Rajya Sabha Secretariat has said that members are informed that the Chairman, Rajya Sabha has referred a question of alleged breach of privilege arising out of repeated non-compliance of the directions of the Speaker. Sanjay Singh, Member, Rajya Sabha under Rule 267 for obstructing the proceedings and conduct of business of the Council of States (Rajya Sabha). The committee can take a decision in this regard.
