Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren’s troubles in illegal mining case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued summons to CM Soren for questioning in this case and asked him to appear for questioning on November 3 at the ED’s office in Ranchi.
JMM leader said – this is revenge politics
JMM leader Manoj Pandey said that ED will do its job and if injustice is done to us, we will approach the court. Don’t know if ED can summon CM. If so, the CM will respond after consulting legal experts. Is it legal to summon him for those charges? If so, then in many cases the PM should also be summoned. This is revenge politics.
ED should have gone to Morbi first
Jharkhand Congress President Rajesh Thakur said that everyone is aware that the central government is working in a planned manner to destabilize governments in non-BJP states. Also said that all plans have been made to destabilize the government, it is not unusual to call Soren. ED should have gone to Morbi first.
Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided the residence of the Chief Minister of Jharkhand and seized a bank passbook and check book of CM Hemant Soren. Raids were also conducted at the residence of Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s aide and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Pankaj Mishra. Pankaj Mishra is the main accused in the money laundering case. Mishra was arrested on July 19 under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). He is currently in judicial custody.
CM Soren is currently facing charges of office of profit for granting himself a mining lease. The Election Commission of India had in August sent its opinion on a petition to Governor Ramesh Bais to disqualify him. However, the decision on this is yet to come.
