Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Saturday said November 11 will be a “historic” day for the state as the government will pass a 1932 land records bill for determination of local residents in the state assembly.
He said that a bill to provide 27 per cent reservation to Other Backward Classes (OBCs) would also be passed on the same day.
The Chief Minister said this in the program ‘Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar’ organized in Ramgarh, about 80 km from the capital Ranchi.
On November 2, the state government had said that it has decided to convene a special session of the Legislative Assembly on November 11 to pass a bill related to domicile policy, for which the base year has been fixed as 1930.
In a scathing attack on the BJP-led central government, Soren said that when they demanded Rs 1.30 lakh crore from the Center for the development of the poor and backward state, it sent the ED and CBI in response.
The chief minister alleged, “there has been a conspiracy to destabilize the popular government in the state. However, they will not succeed.”
During the program, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of 146 schemes worth Rs 4,616.26 lakh and inaugurated 106 schemes worth Rs 25,598.47 lakh.
He said that so far more than 31 lakh applications have been received under ‘Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar’ programme, out of which more than 20 lakh applications have been processed.
The Chief Minister said that the government stands with farmers, workers, women, youth and all the needy. He said that the priority of the government is to strengthen the rural economy.
The Chief Minister said that the students of the state would soon get the benefit of ‘CM Sarathi Yojana’. He said that the government has envisaged ‘Student Credit Card’, through which the government will provide financial support for higher education at low interest.
