Karnataka News: Ten BJP MLAs suspended from the Assembly for creating ruckus inside the house. The MLAs are also accused of throwing papers at the Deputy speaker while he was sitting on his chair. The MLAs were suspended after they tried to disrupt the proceedings of the house. The MLAs were expressing their unwillingness over the speakers refusal to break for lunch while the session was on.
Protesting BJP members threw papers on the Speaker
The Speaker had already stated that there would be no lunch breaks and the discussion on the budget and the demands would continue. The Karnataka Speaker also said that members who wish to have lunch can proceed and may join after having their lunch. The opposition members from the BJP and Janata Dal had alleged that 30 IAS Officers have been posted to serve the Congress in the preparations for the upcoming 2024 elections. The Protesting BJP members threw papers on the speaker expressing their discontent.
MLAs were suspended for the rest of the Session
The situation triggered after many members continued throwing papers at the speaker. In response, the Assembly security Personnel covered the speakers chair as an attempt to protect the speaker from the ruckus. The MLAs were later suspended for their unruly behavior for the rest of the session
