With the defeat of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka, the party has been rendered powerless in the South Indian states for the time being. The party had a government only in Karnataka and wanted to win this election and take advantage of it in the general elections, including elections in Telangana, but this result will force the BJP to make a big change in its strategy. At present, the change will happen when it happens, but now there has been a change in the government of the state. The Congress has stormed the door of power by winning the elections and in the meanwhile Basavaraj Bommai has resigned from the post of Chief Minister.
He went to Raj Bhavan late Saturday evening and met Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot and handed over his resignation to him. After this, talking to the media, he said that I take full responsibility for the party’s defeat in the elections. We accept this result and will once again work hard among the people and come back in the next year’s Lok Sabha elections.
PM Modi congratulated Congress for the victory
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Congress party for winning the Karnataka elections. He tweeted that congratulations to the Congress party on winning the Karnataka assembly elections. He said that my best wishes for fulfilling the expectations of the people of Karnataka. Along with this, PM Modi has also said a big thing for the workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the state. PM Modi tweeted, “I thank all those who supported us in the Karnataka elections. I appreciate the hard work of BJP workers. We look forward to serving Karnataka with even greater enthusiasm in the times to come.”
