Kiran Bedi, Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Puducherry, has been removed from her post. This information was given in a statement issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday night. The Congress government of Puducherry was demanding the removal of Kiran Bedi.
Kiran Bedi tweeted on Wednesday morning and thanked everyone’s support during her tenure. Kiran Bedi posted the video with her tweet in which she is reading her message. Kiran Bedi wrote, ‘Thank you to the people of Puducherry and the government officials involved in my visit as lieutenant Governor of Puducherry.’
In her message, Kiran Bedi said, ‘Thank you to the Government of India for providing once in a lifetime experience as Deputy Governor of Puducherry. I also thank those who worked with me. I can say with deep satisfaction that ‘Team Rajnivas’ has worked hard keeping in mind the broad interests of the people.’ Kiran Bedi further said, ‘The bright future of Puducherry lies in the hands of the people here. My best wishes for a prosperous Puducherry. ‘
Kiran Bedi was appointed as the Deputy Governor of Puducherry on 29 May 2016. There was a continuous confrontation between the Congress government and Kiran Bedi here. Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanswami met President Ram Nath Kovind on February 10 and requested to recall LG Kiran Bedi. Narayanasamy had targeted Bedi by accusing him of running the ‘Tughlaq Darbar’. Welcoming the decision to remove Bedi from the post of Lt. Governor, the Chief Minister said, “This is a victory for the rights of the people.”

Tweeting a letter, she wrote, ‘I will be grateful to the Government of India for my experience as the Deputy Governor of Puducherry. I also thank all those who worked with me. It is now in the hands of the people.
