Lok Sabha Result 2024: PM Modi Trails by 6000 Votes in Kashi, Market Crash?

With PM Modi trailing by 6,000 votes in Kashi and the NDA failing to secure the 400 seats that were expected, the Sensex falls 2,700 points and the Nifty falls 769 points. A volatile trading day is marked by significant losses in the auto, banking, and capital goods sectors.

Lok Sabha Result 2024: As early trends in election results suggested the PM Modi-led NDA was not approaching the 400 seat threshold as anticipated in the Exit Polls 2024, the Sensex fell 2,700 points to 73,844 in early trade today. In the early trade on Tuesday, Nifty also fell 769 points to 22494. PM Modi is lagging behind Kashi by 6,000 votes. In Amethi, KL Sharma, the congress candidate, holds an advantage of 300,000 votes against Smriti Irani. Meerut’s Arun Govil is lagging behind by 7,000 votes. Meanwhile, Chandrashekhar Azad is ahead of Nagina by fifteen thousand votes.

UP Election Count Underway

The Lok Sabha elections 2024 are coming to an end today. There is a count underway for 80 seats in the UP. First patterns of eighty chairs have appeared. NDA is leading with 34 seats, Independent with 43 seats, and BSP with 2 seats in this. From the start, Rahul Gandhi from Rae Bareli, Dimple from Mainpuri, and Akhilesh from Kannauj have kept a lead.

Compared to the valuation of Rs 425.91 lakh crore recorded in the previous session, investor wealth decreased by Rs 14.27 lakh crore to Rs 411.64 lakh crore. The Sensex portfolio as a whole was trading lower. The top losers on the Sensex were L&T, PowerGrid, SBI, Reliance, NTPC, and HDFC Bank, with early trade losses reaching 4.86%.

Stocks Performance

Today, 63 stocks reached their 52-week highs. Conversely, in early trade on Tuesday, just 48 equities on the BSE reached their 52-week lows. Seven03 of the 2889 stocks were trading higher. Approximately 2065 stocks were down while 121 stocks were steady.

On the BSE today, all 19 sectoral indices were trading lower. Auto shares, capital goods, and banks topped today’s Dalal Street losses. The auto, bankex, and capital goods indices of the BSE dropped 3,257 points, 1874 points, and 1297 points, respectively.

Midcap Index Declines

57 stocks or so reach their highest circuits. However, as the stock market surged in the early morning session, 102 shares hit their lower circuit restrictions. The BSE midcap index dropped 1383 points to 42,984, indicating a gloomy outlook for the market as a whole. The small cap stocks index on the BSE fell 1485 points to 46,746.

Nifty finished 733 points higher at 23,263, while the Sensex closed 2,507 points higher at 76,468. In comparison to the value of Rs 412.12 lakh crore recorded in the previous session on May 31, investor wealth increased by Rs 13.79 lakh crore to Rs 425.91 lakh crore.
