Lok Sabha Results 2024: For the third time in a row, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged victorious in the UP Varanasi seat, defeating Congress leader Ajay Rai by a margin of 1,52,513 votes. Narendra Modi defeated AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal in 2014 with a margin of over 4 lakh votes, and he triumphed over Samajwadi Party candidate Shalini Yadav in 2019. At the time, Ajay Rai, who had previously run against PM Modi in the previous two elections, was a distant third. On June 4, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the populace for placing their trust in the NDA for a third time speaking at BJP headquarters in Delhi. “NDA is certain to form government for third term, grateful to people for their full faith in BJP, NDA,” he said.
PM Modi in Post Result Speech
PM Modi said, “Today is a very auspicious day and the NDA is going to form the government for the third consecutive time. We are all thankful to the public for this. People of nation have reposed their faith in the BJP and the NDA, and our victory is win of the world’s biggest democracy.”
PM Modi added, “The voters of Jammu and Kashmir have shown unprecedented enthusiasm by voting in record numbers. They have also shown a mirror to those who try to defame the nation. I salute the people of this occasion of victory.”
BJP’S First win in Odisha
During his speech PM Modi said, “This is the first time after 1962 that a government after completing two terms has returned to power for the third consecutive time. The NDA has also swept the states – Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh – where Assembly elections were held. The Congress has been wiped out in these states. The BJP for the first time will form the government in Odisha. It has also performed exceptionally in Lok Sabha polls in Odisha.”
