Maharashtra: Division of portfolios is the reason for delay in cabinet expansion

Sharad Pawar caught 'unware' as Ajit Pawar joins hand with BJP and Shiv-Sena.

The entry of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the Maharashtra government may create a rift in the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance. In fact, according to sources, there is news that the Finance Ministry can be taken from Devendra Fadnavis and given to Ajit Pawar.

Sources said that if the important finance department is allocated to the NCP, then it will be a big victory for Ajit Pawar’s NCP. At the same time, there will also be a slap on the face of BJP MLAs who are not ready to give more land to their new alliance partner. Let us tell you that after the Ajit Pawar-led NCP faction became part of the ruling coalition, the discontent between the MLAs of Fadnavis and Shinde camp had intensified.

Division of portfolios is the reason for delay in cabinet expansion

According to sources, the reason behind the delay in Maharashtra cabinet expansion is the standoff between the Ajit Pawar camp and the Eknath Shinde faction over finance and planning portfolios. Sources said that Ajit Pawar wants finance and cooperative ministry for his party, but the Shinde camp is unhappy with it.

Please inform that on July 10-11, there was a late night conversation between Shinde, his deputy Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. After this, senior NCP leader Praful Patel said on Wednesday that the issue of distribution of portfolios has been resolved and the allocation of portfolios will be done in a day or two. Patel dismissed reports of a growing rift in the BJP-Shiv Sena-NCP alliance over the portfolio allocation issue.

Praful Patel’s comments came after he and Ajit Pawar reached Delhi for a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and top BJP leaders. “We have come here for a courtesy meeting as Ajit Pawar did not meet the BJP leadership after taking oath as the deputy chief minister,” he said. He said that we will meet PM Modi on July 18. We have been invited for the NDA meeting.

Ajit Pawar faction was included in the Maharashtra government on July 2.

On July 2, the NCP led by Sharad Pawar was divided. His nephew Ajit Pawar and about three dozen MLAs joined the ruling Shiv Sena-BJP alliance. Ajit Pawar and 8 other NCP leaders took oath as ministers.
